Ekklesia Roundtable Series (ERS) 2024: Ghanaian Christian Leaders Unite to Forge a Stronger Church Ecumenical Future.

In a move to deepen unity and collaboration among Christian denominations in Ghana, the Kingdom Equip Network (K.E.N.), a Christian non-profit network in Accra, Ghana, is hosting the 7th edition of its annual Ekklesia Roundtable Series (ERS-7) on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Calvary Baptist Church, Shiashie.

The event, which will start at 9:00am is been organised in collaboration with Church ecumenical bodies, including the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches, and others to facilitate discussions towards developing a structural framework to deepen and strengthen church ecumenism in Ghana.

Themed “Deepening and Strengthening Church Ecumenism in Ghana,” the one-day event will convene key stakeholders, including leaders from major church umbrella groups, Christian denominations, para-church organizations, civil society, academia, and the media.

The keynote addresses will be delivered by distinguished guests such as Rev. Dr. Daniel C. Okoh, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Casely Essamuah, General Secretary of the Global Christian Forum and Dr. Bright Mawudor, former Deputy General Secretary of the All Africa Conference of Churches, Kenya. The event will also feature a paper presentation by the Kingdom Equip Network on a proposed structure and policy to enhance ecumenical cooperation in Ghana.

A major part of the event will be a roundtable discussion with representatives from key ecumenical bodies like the Christian Council of Ghana, Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Ghana Pentecostal & Charismatic Council, and others. The roundtable session aims to sharpen the vision for ecumenism in Ghana, evaluate potential structures and subcommittees to promote ecumenical agendas at national and regional levels, develop strategies for collaborative mission efforts, and define actionable plans to confront issues of national concern.

With over 400 expected participants attending in-person and online, ERS 2024 promises to be a significant gathering helping shape a unified Christian voice and vision for the nation of Ghana. Ecumenical groups, para-church, church, academic, civil society and media representatives are encouraged to participate in this landmark event.
