Church Administrators, Board Members and Leaders Complete Corporate Governance Training Under CORAT-KEN Partnership

Church administrators, board members, and senior pastors from various denominations have successfully completed a five-day Corporate Governance Course, organized by CORAT Africa (Kenya) and Kingdom Equip Network (KEN) (Ghana). The training, held from March 24-28, 2025, aimed to equip church leaders with governance principles, financial stewardship techniques, and leadership development strategies to enhance transparency and accountability in church administration.

This program was a direct outcome of the landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between CORAT Africa and KEN on November 14, 2024. The partnership was established to strengthen church governance and leadership across Africa, addressing challenges such as governance instability, poor resource mobilization, and lack of accountability. The MoU outlined key areas of collaboration, including training programs, faculty exchanges, and research initiatives, all of which were evident in the successful execution of this governance course.

The virtual training attracted senior church administrators, board members, finance and HR directors, legal officers, and senior pastors. Participants represented notable institutions, including Christian Action Faith Ministry (Action Chapel International), The Church of Pentecost, Calvary Baptist Church, International Charismatic Church, Pentecost Hospital Madina, Covenant Family Community Church, Generational Power International Ministry, Full Gospel Church International, Global Revival Ministries, Faith Encounter International Ministries, Liberation Bible Church, and Christian Faith Church International. Additionally, KEN partner Globethics was represented by Mrs. Susan Ackah, Regional Manager for Western Africa.

During the sessions, renowned facilitators such as Rev. Dr. Oliver Kisaka – Managing Director, CORAT Africa, Daniel Glymin Esq – KEN Consultant, Dr. Fred Olweny – Programmes Manager, CORAT Africa, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Ansah – Executive Director, KEN among others led discussions on topics like corporate governance principles, decision-making frameworks, financial accountability, legal and ethical compliance, church board effectiveness, and succession planning. Participants actively engaged in case studies, interactive discussions, and governance simulations, making the training practical and insightful.

At the end of the course, participants received Certificates of Completion, recognizing their dedication to improving church governance. In their closing remarks, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Ansah, Executive Director of Kingdom Equip Network and Rev. Dr. Oliver Kisaka, Managing Director of CORAT Africa, reaffirmed the commitment of both KEN and CORAT Africa to equipping church leaders with the necessary skills to foster accountability and transparency in their ministries.

Speaking after the program, several participants expressed appreciation for the practical insights shared and the relevance of the course to church leadership. Many highlighted how the knowledge gained would help them strengthen governance structures, improve financial management, and enhance ethical decision-making within their ministries and institutions.

This Corporate Governance Course marks a significant step toward strengthening leadership within African churches under the CORAT-KEN partnership. Kingdom Equip Network and CORAT Africa will continue offering leadership and governance training to further their mission of building ethical, accountable, and effective church leadership across the continent.
